Now that the holidays have come to a close and all of the feasting has finally slowed down, it is time to do something about those extra winter pounds that snuck up on us. Sure the extra slice of apple pie didn’t hurt anyone, but it sure did hurt your thighs! Ladies, we all know how this goes. Somehow the cold weather gives us an excuse to eat and hibernate and before you know it, it’s almost time to get back into that bikini. Starting an exercise routine now will keep your weight loss at a steady healthy pace and will tone you up by the time summer rolls around again. Following these basic routines will help you get a sexy body in no time.

The first and most important step in weight loss is combining a healthy diet with exercise. Drinking water is a great start. Staying hydrated will keep your tummy flatter and at the same time make you feel more full. Thirst is often on a bit of a delay, and it is common to mistake thirst for hunger. Before grabbing a snack, drink a glass of ice water or even iced tea and see how you feel. More often than not, the craving will subside and you’ll feel good about not splurging.

Eating small, frequent meals throughout the day will keep your metabolism high and your appetite satisfied. Take your time with these changes, and don’t deprive yourself completely from your favorite treats. Once in a while won’t do much damage, and this way you won’t feel resentful about your diet.
