Lady Gaga to perform on New Year’s Eve in Times Square
Mayor Bloomberg is going gaga over Lady Gaga.
The “Bad Romance” songstress will be the mayor’s special guest on New Year’s Eve this Saturday for the countdown to 2012.
“I have never met Lady Gaga,” Bloomberg said Wednesday at a City Hall news conference. “I saw her once perform at the museum, the Metropolitan Museum.”
“I thought she was a great entertainer,” he went on. “But I do not personally know her and I’m looking forward to it.”
The singer will push the Waterford crystal button at 11:59 p.m., signaling the start of the ball drop and kicking off the final countdown.
She is also expected to perform in front of about 1 million people in Times Square for Dick Clark’s 40th New Year’s Eve program.
“I think she’s a good entertainer,” Bloomberg said. “She’s a great entertainer.”
