R. Kelly fans waiting to ride the "Soula Coaster" will have to wait a few more months.
The R&B singer's autobiography, "Soula Coaster: The Diary of Me," is due in "spring 2012," a representative for publishing house SmileyBooks told the Village Voice on Wednesday.
According to online book seller Indigo, the tome had been scheduled for Nov. 15. It was listed without a known release date on Amazon.com. Co-writer David Ritz, who has also written books with Grandmaster Flash, Ray Charles and Tavis Smiley, among others, also confirmed to the Voice that the book would not make the November date.
R. Kelly, whose hit-filled career has weathered a dramatic child pornography case (he was acquitted in 2008) and a recent throat surgery, is expected to address his controversial past as well as his chart-topping catalog.
"I'm tired of being misunderstood," the musician wrote in the autobiography's 2009 press release. "I will show you the tears, fears, and sweat. I will open my heart and reveal the good in my life as well as all the drama. I want to tell it like it is."
His fans are still listening: last winter's retro-minded "Love Letter" was his thirteenth top 10 album, bowing at No. 6 on the Billboard 200.
