Eyeing a career in country music, Britney's little sister Jamie Lynn Spears debuted a set of original songs at The Rutledge in Nashville last night, PEOPLE reports. Following the show, Spears tweeted, "Just wanna thank all my amazing friends and family for coming out tonight!!!!"
According to PEOPLE, Spears' grandfather June was in the audience along with her mother and father, Lynne and Jamie; country singer-songwriter stalwart Pam Tillis was also in attendance. Britney, however, was not there as she's currently touring overseas. Jamie Lynn has been living in Nashville with her three-year-old daughter Maddie for the past two years.
Following the show, Lynne Spears said, "I am so emotional tonight." While her father added, "We are so proud of her."
This isn't Jamie Lynn's first foray into music, though her past is primarily pop: Back in 2002, she was featured on the single, "Hey Now (Girls Just Wanna Have Fun)," a modified cover of Cyndi Lauper's classic, "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun," done by the pop trio, Triple Image. Spears also recorded the theme song, "Follow Me" for her old Nickelodeon show, "Zoey 101" in 2005.
