John Legend Will Perform 1st Concert In Cushman & Wakefield Theater At Barclays Center

Jay-Z will christen the Barclays Center by way of eight shows come September, and John Legend has been commissioned to inaugurate the Cushman & Wakefield Theater one month later. Legend will be the first person to perform in the intimate venue inside the sports arena, in October.

“New York is so special to me and I'm thrilled to be the first performer at the Cushman & Wakefield Theater at Barclays Center in Brooklyn,” said Legend in a statement to Hip-Hop Wired. “We're going to have a beautiful first night there.”

Tickets for his show go on sale to the general public Friday, Aug. 17 at noon, and are available through www.barclayscenter.com, www.ticketmaster.com, or by calling 800-745-3000.
“We are excited that such a renowned and respected artist as John Legend will open Cushman & Wakefield Theater, introducing a new intimate environment for Barclays Center,” said Barclays CEO, Brett Yomark. “Cushman & Wakefield Theater will be able to attract a wide variety of entertainment for Barclays Center and allow us to continue offering the borough with the best and most diverse line-up of musical acts. We are proud that Cushman & Wakefield is a Founding Partner with Barclays Center as we continue to align with best-in-class companies.”

As it plans to do for all events, Barclays will work closely with the New York City's Metropolitan Authority (MTA) in the coordination of mass transit to and from the arena.
