Beyoncé Signs On For UN Global Humanitarian Campaign
Beyoncé has a lot going on these days. Besides raising a child, she's working on new music (we assume), plans to spend the month of August at a 30,000-square foot Hamptons mansion, and if all that wasn't enough, she's found time for charity work. The 30-year-old has signed on with the United Nations and other humanitarian aid organizations for a global campaign which encourages involvement from people around the world. “This is our time to leave our mark on the world,” she said in a statement. Mrs. Sean Carter and songwriter Diane Warren will donate the video for “I Was Here,” off the singer's 4 album, in honor of the cause. Bey will film the piece in front of a live audience in New York City, at the UN General Assembly . In addition to the video, a website will be launched sometime Thursday (Aug. 2) where visitors will be able to share their good deeds. After giving birth in January, Bey took time off from work. In May she marked her first official post-baby performances at Atlantic City's Revel Resort Hotel & Casino. She's also been traveling around the world in support of Jay's Watch the Throne tour, and recently posted a few photos on her Tumblr page in honor of The Roc.
