Like it or not, Chief Keef has fans in high places. The Chicago teen has made more headlines for his antics than his music lately, but his latest track "Love Sosa" might be the change in tide that he needs.
Aside from receiving more than a million plays on YouTube in two days, he can now count Drake as a fan of the track.
Taking to Twitter to share his praise, Drizzy announced that he can't get enough of the new song. "Love Sosa has at least 130 plays in three days," he wrote Sunday (Oct. 21).
These days trouble continues to follow Keef. Aside from having his tweets about dead rapper Lil JoJo investigated by police, the 17-year-old could be headed to jail for parole violation thanks to a Pitchfork interview done at a gun range.
On the music front, "Love Sosa," produced by Young Chop, amps up the energy in comparison to the "I Don't Like" single that launched Keef into the rap spotlight.
Be on the lookout for his Finally Rich mixtape, which could hit the streets any day now.

Mac Miller took to Twitter today with a title for his new album. Mac’s sophomore album will be titled Watching Movies With The Sound Off and release sometime early next year. 2 Chainz's second chance at stardom is one of the biggest stories in all of music. On MTV's new music based show (go figure!), they focus on the background story of how an artist made it to the big time on This Is How I Made It.
The show takes you back to Tity Boi's humble beginnings hustling on the block to being one of the biggest stars in Hip-Hop. From this video, you can see the parallels he drew from Lil Wayne as far as his incredible approach to being featured on every record possible much like Tunechi in 2006.
"After the tour I had a different outlook on music," 2 Chainz says about touring with Lil Wayne. "This is a guy going out every night rocking the crowd getting off stage, shower eating whatever, and rapping until 7, 8, 9 or 10 the next day. The thing about me was that I owned a studio but I wasn't using it every day. You know, I made it my business to do something musically everyday because I realized music is my job."

Def Jam Makes The-Dream Their Vice President of A&R

Def Jam Recordings has appointed Teris Nash aka The-Dream as their Executive Vice President of A&R, according to a press release. As VP, he’ll produce tracks for Def Jam acts and sign new artists to the label. The producer, songwriter and vocalist, profiled in FADER #68, is currently working with Rihanna on her 7th Def Jam release, due in November, with Pusha T on his solo full-length under Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music imprint and with August Alsina, a new signee to his own Radio Killa imprint. In a statement, The-Dream wrote:

I am committed as I have been previously to bringing the power of belief in the artist back to the forefront. I share a unique view of an artist and as well as the business of music. I, with the help of many others, have ran a successful business for the last five years in the midst of the “Digital Change.” My concentration and effort will be to the artist to succeed in their dreams and goals. The-Dream self-released a free LP, 1977, last year. His long-awaited fourth LP for Def Jam, once promised for August, has no set release date.

Joey Bada$$ has announced his signing to Green Label Sound to release a single this fall.
Details surrounding the up-and-coming rapper's single are yet to be announced. In an exclusive statement to HipHopDX, Joey shared his excitement in inking a deal with the imprint and hinted at a big-name collaborator.
"I'm really excited to be working with Green Label Sound on this track," he said. "It's gonna be dope and I get to work with someone I consider an icon."
Joey has built a name for himself over the past few months, releasing his critically acclaimed mixtape 1999 and its follow-up compilation Rejex. In anticipation of his upcoming single, Joey will perform at the CMJ Festival in New York City, New York.

Did we mention that Curtis is back to his old tricks again? Well, Curtis is back to his old tricks again. A few days ago, French Montana conducted an interview with Insanul Ahmed of Complex and dropped what seemed to be a light comment about 50 Cent when discussing the idea of rap beef not selling anymore like it used to.
"You should avoid beef if you trying to make money. People get scared when you try to beef with people. In general, [even in street s**t] nobody want to stand next to you if somebody about to shoot you," French told Complex. "They [used to] do that with 50 because 50 was the bank. They knew he was going to win. People ain't doing that [anymore]."

50 took to his Twitter account to respond to French Montana stating "French, your s**t is so weak, you never had a song by yourself fool. Ain't nobody waiting to hear your verse, girl." He added, "you out of your league talking about me you hoe. I read your little interview what the f**k is you high? You [might as well] catch this fade boy. Do you realize this fool French Montana hasn't sold one record and talking about sales."
French Montana responded via his Twitter and references one of 50 Cent's breakout songs, "Wanksta," by stating "damn homie, last year you was the man homie, the f**k happened to you?"
50 Cent and French Montana were seen just as recently as two weeks ago taking pictures together at the BET Hip-Hop Awards alongside Machine Gun Kelly, and Red Cafe. Despite French's loose affiliation with rival group, Maybach Music, all seemed to be love at that point. My how have things changed.

Lil Wayne's meteoric rise to fame is astounding when one considers his humble beginnings as a teenaged phenom on his native New Orleans recording label Cash Money. Along with five platinum albums and four gold albums over the course of a stellar 13-year career, Lil Wayne can now add a most significant boast to his tally. According to Billboard, the Young Money captain has surpassed rock and roll icon Elvis Presley as the top solo artist of the magazine's Hot 100 charts.
To be fair, Billboard didn't start taking notice of the chart numbers until 1958 and Elvis certainly had hits earlier than that time period. From that first year until 2003, the singer amassed 108 placements on the charts. Still, Weezy F. Baby's achievement is certainly noteworthy considering his status and longevity in the game. Wayne just edged Presley out at 109 – this after Game's newest single “Celebration” featuring Chris Brown, Tyga and Wiz Khalifa debuted at #82 this week.
The YMCMB camp was certainly in a good mood, this after Lil Wayne celebrated another year of life yesterday. Cash Money boss Birdman tweeted a shout to the birthday boy in honor of his big day. "Hapi BDay. My Son BMJR. Tha realest tha Best Eva Mula Krazy Tunechi.YMCMB," said Birdman.
Weezy's manager Cortez Bryant recognized his artist's record-breaking moment via Twitter as well. "And my ni- @LilTunechi Surpassed Elvis to break the record for the most songs to hit the Billboard Charts!! Hard work pays off!," added Bryant.
Because Lil Wayne is a heavily sought after featured artist, it makes sense that he's the king of the Hot 100 charts considering his drawing power and fan base. Still neither Elvis nor Lil Wayne can hold a torch to the “Glee” cast, who own the Hot 100 records with 204 charting hits since 2009.

Nicki Minaj Getting 3 Reality Specials On E! Network

The rumors of Nicki Minaj getting her own reality show were only partially true. The YMCMB Barbie and current American Idol judge will be appearing in three reality specials on the E! Network starting in November, reports MTV News. The specials will reportedly include never before seen footage of the Queens rapper during her come up from street DVD artist to Pop star instead of a reality series many thought was in the works.

There have been other shows that took a glimpse at Minaj's early grind, like MTV's Nicki Minaj: My Time Now doc. Besides her AI gig, Minaj is also dropping a new fragrance called "Pink Friday." The perfume's bottle is fashioned in the shape of a wigged head. Minaj will also be re-releasing her sophomore album, Pink Friday: Roman's Revenge, and the updated version will be reportedly called The Re-Up. Recently, an old Minaj track called "Letter To Lil Wayne" hit the Internets that features a pre-YMCMB Minaj lyrically expressing frustration at a then delay in being signed to Lil Tunechi's label.
How times have changed.
